Niagara Falls may be one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations, but it has nothing on Toronto when it comes to marriage proposals. Toronto is a world-class city that rivals New York and London in terms of culture, style, class, and variety. Making things even better is the fact that Toronto is home to Engage Diamond Studio. There is no better place to purchase your engagement ring before popping the big question.
We have looked around and come up with our list of top five places in Toronto to propose. Keep in mind this list is just our opinion. There are so many great locations to choose from; we have barely scratched the surface with our choices.
1. Casa Loma Castle
Also known as the Majestic Castle, Casa Loma sits just north of the city centre on Austin Terrace. This European-style Castle is the former home of well-known Canadian businessman Sir Henry Pellatt. It comes complete with elegant ballrooms, luxury suites, an incredible conservatory and even hidden passageways. The Castle is the perfect setting for a Cinderella and Prince Charming proposal while you tour the mansion or enjoy a romantic dinner at the Terrace Grill.
2. CN Tower
One could not discuss the top places to propose in Toronto without mentioning the world-famous CN Tower. At a height of more than 553 metres, the tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world, offering a birds-eye view of the entire city and surrounding area. And make no mistake, there is plenty to do that will keep you and your love busy for hours. You might consider the Tower 360 Restaurant or its observation deck as a place to pop the question.
3. Toronto Islands
Just off the downtown shoreline is the Toronto Islands. The islands offer kilometre after kilometre of quiet walking paths, quaint streets, and beautiful views of the city skyline and Lake Ontario. More importantly, there are no engine-powered vehicles allowed on the islands. You will be extremely pleased with the quiet serenity – a perfect environment for you to ask for her hand.
4. Toronto Music Garden
If you or your love is musical, the perfect place for your proposal may be the Toronto Music Garden designed by world-famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The garden is a visual display of his interpretation of Bach’s Suite No. 1, divided into various sections intended to interpret the individual movements of the piece. You will find this garden terribly romantic year-round, but even more so during one of the many concerts performed over the summer months.
5. The Distillery District
Toronto’s distillery district offers you a trip back in time to a simpler day. The district is reminiscent of a small, turn-of-the-century town thriving long before the digital age. It is home to dozens of restaurants, pubs, cafes and boutiques, as well as more than 70 cultural and historic business establishments. And, of course, the former Gooderham & Worts distillery provides the backdrop for it all. Its old brick buildings give a glimpse of the past you may otherwise never be familiar with.
We have given you just five locations to choose from for your romantic proposal. Regardless of where you pop the question, we hope you will do it with an engagement ring from Engage Diamond Studio.
