1.Spy on Her Style

This involves a little reconnaissance planning on your part. What kind of jewellery does she wear — vintage, classic or contemporary? What colour of jewellery does she usually wear? (For example, white, yellow or two-tone?)

2.The Double-Agent Ploy

Enlist the help of her friends and family to take her shopping with a casual stop by a jewellery counter to try on some engagement rings just for fun. Get them to take note of her preferences for diamond shape and settings. You’ll learn a lot about her preferences in this exercise.

3.Ask Her

It might blow your cover but it’s a pretty straightforward bet you’ll get the right ring on the first time attempt. You could also try shopping together — over 40% of our clients choose to pick out their engagement ring together.

4.Ask Us

With years of experience under our belt, we can probably take an educated guess at what ring will be right for your girl. Our consultants will ask you a few questions about your girlfriend’s preferences (you’ll have to know a few of those!) and make appropriate recommendations.
