• Bob waits a year or more before the 'right' client comes in and buys one of the twenty styles Bob’s picked out.
• During the year or more that it took to sell that one ring, Bob had to pay for the rings in full plus his store’s overhead. Being in a mall, Bob pays a premium rent for high traffic - and this doesn’t include his advertising (marketing), administrative and staffing costs.
