We went in with a picture of an engagement ring in hand and wanted it produced within a certain budget and with time constraints. Ji exceeded our expectations. He found the shape, cut and Canadian diamond we wanted. He gave us the “Diamonds-101” course through an in-house demonstration and he welcomed all our questions. Bottom line – I went to several stores when first shopping, but once I walked into Engage Diamond Studio, I knew this is where I wanted to buy the engagement ring for my life partner.
When I first entered the store the staff were quick to greet me, offer me a snack and explain to me the unique process. No more window shopping, like at other jewellery stores. Being able to look closely and touch each of the rings without hassle, and a staff member watching my every move, made it an easy experience.
Once I had an opportunity to browse, Ji gave me a diamond workshop, explaining each of the facets of what to look for in a diamond and how Engage Diamonds uses only diamonds of the highest quality cut.
Any questions I had were quickly answered, whether it was where the diamond was from, or what to look for in a diamond. He gave me sound advice through the whole process that I took into account.

I rarely buy anything expensive, and I’m very adamant about getting my money’s worth. I went to four different diamond dealers and heard the same sales pitch, went through the diamond course, and left not knowing who to choose. When I went to Engage Diamond Studio, they offered me a high quality diamond at a reasonable price, and told me to research myself to see which diamond would be better. I hope all is well my friend. I just wanted to let you know that I gave my girlfriend that beautiful ring last weekend in Ottawa and well...she said no?! No, just kidding, she is absolutely blown away by how beautiful the ring is, as are many jealous friends and family. I actually caught my mom looking down at her ring with an “I wish mine looked like that” expression on her face.
I just want to thank you again for all your help in the whole process from start to finish. You were the only shop that I visited where I felt totally comfortable. You weren’t trying to push the most expensive rings on my girlfriend and I and you genuinely cared about finding the perfect ring for her that also met my price range and I thank you for that. Sorry that this mail comes a bit late, but I wanted you to know that my new fiancée loved the ring. I took her out to the top of a mountain on a rainy day near my hometown in northern Ontario and when we got to the promontory overlooking lake Superior, I popped the question on bended knee. Her eyes were awash in tears when she said yes and the rest is history :)

My now fiance and I took a trip to Italy last Fall, in which I was surprised with a beautiful diamond ring! I mean, I was surprised with a romantic marriage proposal on the coast of the Italian Riviera!
I later found out that Ji and my fiance spent months designing and redesigning the ring and awaiting for the perfectly cut diamond for it. Instead of trying to make a quick sale, Ji spent many hours educating my fiance about diamonds and rings as he understood the importance of making his clients be part of a working relationship.

It has been a pleasure to work with Ji. From creative conception to completion, the Engage Team really helped with all their experience and options. They took the most basic sketches, and turned them into mock-ups, which help me visualize the final product.

From the start, the process of finding my engagement ring was rather Unconventional. Due to circumstances, my fiancé sent me on my merry way of selecting my own ring. Now like most women, I had already begun looking for the perfect ring even before he asked! So with this said I had some ideas as to what kind of Ring I wanted.
I looked high and low and came up with a few selections. Unfortunately the pieces that I really liked were Outrageously inflated and above our budget. So I continued looking around in hopes to find something less expensive, but to no avail. That’s when I came across Engage Diamond Studio!

If there’s one person who can create complexity, it’s me!
From the moment I walked in, I was a little hysterical with the whole idea of getting engaged. It all started by trying to create a “one of a kind design”. Ji at Engage Diamond Studio put me at ease immediately by assuring me he would be able to create whatever I imagined. Ji took his time educating me on everything I needed to know about diamonds and he worked with me to perfect my design.
Although my idea was a little extravagant there was a budget to be met and Ji successfully made it happen.
The very relaxed environment at Engage Diamond Studio and both Ji & Ed, allowed me take deep breaths and bring it down a notch so I could think rationally. The “no rush” appointment was great. Ji took out his pencil and worked with me to draft out and understand exactly what it was that I was trying to achieve in design.
Ji made a wax model of the ring to show me a preliminary cast of what the ring would look like. Even with the wax however, it was still difficult for me to envision how the ring was going to turn out because there were many little diamonds involved with intricate settings. Ji then had the capacity to produce digital drawings (through CAD) to give me a precise virtual look of what the final creation would look like. I was satisfied and Engage Diamonds got the ok to go ahead.
Nothing prepared me for what I saw next. When they told me the ring came out beautifully...they lied! It was absolutely Spectacular!
I was in awe and the moments of silence were followed with nothing but an ear-to-ear smile on my face and a firm handshake to show Engage Diamonds exactly how I felt.
Ji’s diamond knowledge, expertise, taste and craftsmanship were accurate and consistent throughout. After my experience with Ji & Ed at Engage Diamond Studio, I referred my brother, my long time friend and a colleague from work who have all been shopping around for an engagement ring as well and it’s no surprise that they all ended up with a ring from Engage Diamond Studio.

Understanding the importance of buying the "perfect" engagment ring, I knew that it was an important decision and that the ring for my wife-to-be needed to be PERFECT. So I did a lot of searching going from store to store in malls, speciality stores, and even private jewelers. Going from place to place I was given all these terms I was unfamiliar with VS1,...VVS1?!?! I had no idea what the jewelers were speaking of. So I decided to do some online research. I had a general idea of the type of diamond and the setting design that I wanted. With this in mind, I commenced a long and arduous journey to well over a dozen retailers. When I visited these other stores, I either did not find the diamond that I wanted, they could not design the setting that I liked, and/or I simply had a very poor connection with the salesperson that I was dealing with. I then discovered Engage Diamonds really by serendipity after deciding to look at Toronto.com one day. I called Engage Diamonds and spoke to Ed, who was by far the friendliest and most laid-back of all the retailers that I contacted - and that was the impression that I got just by telephone! After visiting the showroom, Ed and I had a very frank and productive dialogue. While in the showroom, I found the exact setting design that I was looking for!
The combination of finding my design and my discussion with Ed made me confident that Engage Diamonds would be able to design the ring that I wanted. After I received the finished ring, I was extremely pleased with the work of Engage Diamonds!! The ring looked exactly how I envisioned it would.

I can honestly say that I could not have been happier going with any other company than Engage Diamond Studio for my wife's (fiancée at the time) engagement ring. They helped me find a ring that I was impressed with in more than one way. With some companies, I saw rings that I liked, but the prices were very unreasonable. With other companies, they didn't have much of a selection. With Engage Diamond Studio, I was able to get the best of both worlds!

Even before my boyfriend (now my husband) asked me to marry him, I had been looking at engagement rings - hey a girl has to be prepared! I had done quite a bit of research on websites or walk-ins at jewellery stores and narrowed the search to something "antique looking". When we got serious enough to discuss marriage I continued to do my own research as I was of the view that although my boyfriend had great taste, I was the one who would be wearing it for the rest of my life.
Enter Ed..... Ed was a referral from not only a girlfriend but my sister as well. I made the initial contact with Ed and felt really good after our conversation. He suggested that my boyfriend and I come in for a consultation. Between our conversation and consultation, I bombarded Ed with emails of rings from several sites that I was researching. He was very patient and knowledgeable. At our meeting Ed was very straight forward and to the point. He knew our financial situation, made suggestions to get the best bang for our buck, cleared up any questions we had about the 4 C's and just how important each factor was.
Out of the blue, my boyfriend and I spotted a ring at a jewellery website. I was sold, it was the ring that I had been looking for, dreaming and salivating about. However, the price was out of our budget and we were a bit suspicious about the pricing and the grading of the stone. I called Ed and told him where we had seen it.
